Brass is an alloy of
copper and zinc. Zinc proportion may vary from 5% to 40%.
Small amounts of tin and lead may be added for special
purposes.
The color of brass varies with the composition from the
bronze and golden colors of the Low-Zinc Brasses to the
yellow of the High-Zinc Brasses.
Low-Zinc Brasses are more ductile and corrosion resistant
than the High-Zinc Brasses and also have superior
properties.
High-Zinc brasses are stronger, harder, and wear better.
Brass doesnt not tarnish like copper & has less
malleability.
Yellow brass has a beauty of its own and is very
popular for art metal objects such as lamps, vases,
trays, boxes.
